The 750-megawatt Tuanku Ja`afar PD2 power plant with two GE Frame 9FA gas turbines is owned by Tenaga National Berhad (TNB), Malaysia`s largest electricity supplier. The new $31 million agreement marks the second multi-year maintenance program with TNB Repair and Maintenance Sdn Bhd (REMACO). The first multi-year maintenance program with REMACO was for an eight-year contract for Petronas Gas Berhad`s Facilities Utility Plants (CUF), headquartered in Kertih-Gebeng. MBS was the third local authority to sign the agreement with TNB to use GSPARX`s expertise in installing and operating rooftop solar modules, after Johor Bahru City Council and Seberang Perai City Council, according to TNB. “This agreement will further enhance TNB REMACO`s reputation as a one-stop service provider for energy-related work and will also identify the TNB REMACO Repair Centre as a regional repair node, in line with TNB`s goal of being a global brand.” The agreement builds on TNB`s long and successful relationship with GE, the world`s leading energy technology and services company. TNB President/Chief Executive Officer, Y. Bhg. Dato` Sri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh in his opening address said that the three-year agreement underestimates TNB`s promise and commitment to invest in new and more efficient technologies.
